Curietron LDR / MDR - Product description

Application
BEBIG Curietron® is used for the treatment of gynaecological cancers such as of cervix uteri, endometrium and vagina. The system consists of a 4 channel afterloader with built-in storage container for the two vaginal and two intra-uterine source holders. The different loading lengths of the source holders offer a variation of dose configuration to the individual treatment volume. The BEBIG Curietron® supports a variety of application techniques such as Fletcher, Delouche and Mould.

Highly Cost-Efficient
The BEBIG Curietron® is an afterloader with low running costs due to the long half life of Cs-137 and the 10 years recommended working life of the source holders. The requirements for the set-up are moderate and therefore the costs for the radiation protection of the treatment room are low.

Less Toxicity
Low dose rate treatments with the BEBIG LDR / MDR afterloader are tolerable to normal tissue resulting in less side effects for rectum and bladder.

Programming & Treatment Control
BEBIG Curietron® LDR / MDR afterloader is easy to use and provides a full safety system. A wall-mounted control panel is placed outside the treatment room. The touch screen enables easy programming of treatment channels and times and allows monitoring of treatment progress. Constant watching of the safety switches ensure a permanent control of all source holder positions and room status to secure a maximum safety level for patient and staff.

Accessories

CURIESTOCK®: The storage container for the sources can contain up to 20 source holders. The Curiestock® also serves as a transport container.
Delouche Applicator: Easy to use applicator for cervix treatment. The soft applicator tubing offers a high degree of flexibility to adapt the applicator to the individual anatomy. The disposable applicator comes sterile packed.
Fletcher Applicator: Design has ovoids for bladder and rectal shielding. The intrauterine tube can be adapted to the treatment geometry. The reusable applicator is for LDR / MDR treatments.
Chassagne Applicator: Is commonly used for the Mold technique. Two models with differently sized connecting threads (uterine and vaginal) are available.
