Iridium-192 Wire Sources
Ir-192 Wires
Iridium-192 wire sources are thin and flexible wires coated with
pure platinum. They are available in different lengths and
shapes and come with a large variety of accessories.
Application
Ir-192 wires are designed for the treatment of head and neck,
breast, anal, and gynaecological cancers by interstitial or
intracavitary brachytherapy. The wires are applicable for the
basic temporary implantation, loop implant , guide gutter,
sealed-end, and suture technique.
Advantages
Ir-192 wires are very thin and extremely flexible allowing to
adapt the implant geometry to the individual primary target
volume. The thin wires are suitable for cut-ting to the
individual needs of the target area.
Accessories
The large range of accessories available in addition to the
Ir-192 wire sources serve the needs of Iridium-192 wire sources
are thin and flexible wires coated with pure platinum. They are
available in different lengths and shapes and come with a large
variety of accessories. the different cancer treatment
techniques. Accessories include plastic catheters with different
diameters, blocking buttons and leads, guiding mandrels, and
retention plates. The plastic catheters are delivered sterile in
a packaging unit of 50. All catheters are bio-compatible.
Miscellaneous
Ir-192 wires are shipped in returnable lead containers (Type A
package). They are CE marked classified as C 53231 according to
ISO 2919 and certified as special form radioactive material.
