HDR / PDR Dose Planning
PDR - HDRplus Treatment Planning System
The PDR - HDRplus High Dose Radiation Therapy Treatment Planning
Program displays significant advantages compared to other
programs. The program is based on the experience gained through
the development of LDR (low dose radiation) brachytherapy,
ultrasound imaging systems, and software for the processing of
x-ray, CT and MR images. Clinical experience in HDR/PDR is the
foundation of the program and its user interface.

Specifications
- Automated
dwell position activation and dwell-time calculation
inside the treated volume.
- Algorithms
and data for the entire standard source type
isotopes are available.
- The
import of CT, MR, US and orthogonal films is
possible, as well as the import via real time frame
grabber and TWAIN interface.
- The
PDR - HDRplus contouring tool even recognizes pre-drawn
contours.
- Therapy
planning can be performed manually, semi- or fully
automatically.
- All
organs can be displayed in a realistic 3D view. The
organs can be switched on and off at any time.
- User
definable reports are displaying the relevant
planning data on one page and thus can be viewed at
a glance.
- Export
of treatment plan data to common HDR/PDR units.
- Available
on desktop or laptop, Windows XP

HDRplus™ Features
- Image acquisition available
through real-time frame grabber, TWAIN compatible film scanner,
DICOM 3.0 TCP/IP-network, floppy disk, CD-ROM, etc.
- Up to 20 different image file
formats readable: DICOM 3.0, BMP, JPEG, TIFF, GIF, PNG, PCX, ...
etc.
- Image sequence based planning
with co-registration (i.e. planning based on image sequences
acquired from different imaging modalities) of two image sequences
with up to 512 images per sequence.
- Image Fusion at variable
oblique scan angles and offsets between image sequences acquired
with different imaging modalities: Ultrasound, PET, MR or CT.
- Orthogonal and semi-orthogonal
reconstruction based on up to four isocentric X-ray images at
variable angles.
- Non-isocentric reconstruction
with x-ray films acquired using a reconstruction box.
- Editing of applicators,
control points, isodoses, etc. on user defined arbitrary oblique
distribution planes showing dose distributions in three orthogonal
views relatively to the applicator
- Easy positioning of
applicators with a mouse click
- Easy manual contouring of
anatomical structures with the computer mouse
- Interpolation of missing
contours on intermediate image planes
- Dose calculation considering
applicator shield
- Automatic calculation of dwell
times unsurpassed by manual editing
- User configurable collection
of clusters: Pre-defined applicator, dwell point and control point
scenarios that may be loaded and placed, rotated, etc. like a single
applicator.
- Geometric and dose control
point optimization available
- Automated placement of dose
control points related to contours or applicators
- Algorithms and data for common
source types are included or can easily be added by the build-in
source editor
- Isodose shape oriented
dwell-time editing with the mouse
- Graphical editing of dwell
times displayed as bar graph
- Applicator and shield
attenuation is modeled for dose calculation
- Ovoids and shields are
displayed with user defined transparency
- Complies with the current
AAPM TG-43 recommendations dated March 2004. For
the first time accurate point and line source modeling of the source
anisotropy was implemented in a commercially available product.
Calculation of the actual dose considering source anisotropy as well
as applicator and shield contribution.
- Set prescription dose at dose
control points relative to applicator and axis
- Real-time calculation of
isodoses during dwell position editing
- Immediate calculation of local
dose at cursor position

consisting of up to 50 pages in letter format including: source
data, patient data, applicator dwell points, isodoses, cumulative,
differential and "natural" dose volume histograms, etc. The report
may be previewed before printing.
- Up to eight user configurable
histogram parameters (D90, V100, etc.) per organ or structure
- Dose alerts (optical and
acoustical) for dose parameters, when Dxx or Vxx are exceeding a
user defined range: An audio signal is generated the new value is
emphasized in color
